Wellcome Connecting Science is committed to ensuring that our learning and training participants are able to access our activities and facilities in an equitable manner. Our in-person workshops, courses and conferences which take place in the UK are held on the Wellcome Genome Campus, usually within Hinxton Hall Conference Centre.

The Conference Centre combines a Grade II* listed building, with modern purpose-built meeting spaces.

• With the exception of the two Loft meeting rooms situated on the first floor (which are accessed by staircase only) all rooms and public spaces in the Conference Centre are at ground level.
• Fixed directional signage throughout the Conference Centre is clear and easy to read from a seated position.
• All communal areas and meeting rooms are evenly and well lit with electric and natural light.
• The auditorium is tiered.  There are two wheelchair spaces and step-free access to the stage area via a gated lift. There is a built-in hearing loop.
• Accessible toilets are equipped with non-slip flooring, emergency pull cords, handrails, lever taps and hand driers accessible from a seated position.
• There are five accessible bedrooms with wet room style en-suite bathrooms. These bathrooms are fitted with non-slip flooring, emergency pull cords, handrails, lever taps and hand driers accessible from a seated position.

Many of our conferences take place in a hybrid format, with an online joining option through a dedicated portal, designed to maximise interactions with the whole conference community.

• In-person and online delegates have access to the recordings of conference talks. These recordings are made available the day after broadcast, for four weeks after the conference ends.
• For online delegates, a live captioning service is available for each talk, using the Chrome web browser.

We believe that all scientists should have access to the right learning and training opportunities, enabling you to achieve your full professional potential, regardless of who you are. We aim to remove as many financial barriers as possible for research and healthcare professionals looking to access your next course or conference with us.

• For all of our UK-based events, bursary support is offered for up to 50% of the course application fee or the conference registration fee. Click here for more information on how our financial support can support your career in genomics. 
• For some UK conferences, full bursaries covering the registration fee and travel are offered through support from sponsors and partner institutions. See individual conference pages for details. 
• For training courses held outside the UK, full bursaries are offered for scientists applying from low and-middle income countries.
