Dedicated to helping those who require financial assistance to attend our events.
We aim to make our events as accessible as possible, so we offer a number of funding opportunities to help with the cost of attending our events.
The following funding opportunities are currently available:
- carer grants
As standard, we offer a limited number of registration bursaries are available for PhD students to attend our conferences, covering up to 50% of the registration fee. Sometimes extra bursaries are made possible by conference sponsors. To apply for a bursary to attend a conference, please see the ‘Bursaries’ section of the event information page for more information.
Courses (Wellcome Genome Campus, UK)
All our Courses at the Wellcome Genome Campus are heavily subsidised for non-commercial participants from anywhere in the world. Additional, limited bursaries are available (up to 50% of the course fee) and are awarded on merit. Please view the Cost and bursaries information on individual event pages for more details. Unfortunately we cannot provide assistance for travel expenses for our UK courses.
Overseas Courses (Outside the UK)
We run courses regularly outside of the UK in Africa, Asia and Latin America. These Overseas Courses are free to attend for non-commercial applicants. Limited bursaries are also available to cover travel, accommodation and sustenance costs and are awarded on merit. To apply for a bursary, please complete the bursary section of the online application form for your selected overseas course.
Please note that both the applicant and supervisor are required to provide a statement of justification for bursary applications.
Our new carer grants help delegates with the costs of caring for children or dependent family members while attending our Wellcome Genome Campus events. The grants can be used to pay for childcare/care at home (e.g. babysitter, carer) or at a registered provider while the delegate is at the event.
For terms and conditions and to apply for a carer grant, please download the Carer Grant application form below. Completed forms must be emailed to the event organiser by the conference registration or course application deadline.
