Epigenomics of Common Diseases
14–17 November 2017
Wellcome Genome Campus, Hinxton, UK
Summary
The 7th Epigenomics of Common Diseases conference will bring together leading scientists for the fields of epigenomics, genetics and bioinformatics to discuss the latest developments in this fast-moving area.
Epigenetic variation plays an important role in disease processes and provides a promising focus for disease prediction, prevention and treatment. Technological advancements in the past few years have fuelled a dramatic increase in the scale, breadth and availability of epigenomic reference data. Associations between epigenetic variation, a variety of risk factors and the development of many diseases continue to emerge but causality has, in many instances, not yet been established.
This meeting will focus on epigenomic studies across of a wide range of common and other diseases including cancer, and will include approaches from a variety of different disciplines. It will explore technological and methodological developments and provide a forum to present and discuss recent advances in epigenomics of relevance to human disease. This year’s meeting will emphasise recent studies on epigenetics of ageing, brain diseases, chromatin architecture, regulatory networks, and computational epigenomics. There will also be a special session on the approaches needed to demonstrate causality in epigenetic studies.
Programme
The conference will start at approximately 12.30 on Tuesday, 14 November and close at approximately 14.00 on Friday, 17 November 2017.
Topics will include:
- Epigenomics of ageing
- Evolution and epigenetics
- Inheritance of epigenetic programmes
- Population and clinical epigenetics
- Epigenomics of brain disease
- Causality in epigenetic studies
- 4D nucleome
- Enhancers and regulatory networks
- Computational epigenomics and bioinformatics
- New epigenomic technologies

Abstracts
We welcome abstracts from all areas relevant to the main themes of the meeting, for both oral and poster presentations. Several oral
presentations will be chosen from the abstracts submitted.
Abstracts will only be considered from registered delegates. Please use our online abstract submission system and follow the instructions given to ensure your abstract is submitted correctly. All abstracts must be submitted by the deadline. If you are intending to submit more than one abstract, please contact the conference organiser prior to registration.
The scientific programme committee will assess your abstract after the deadline has passed and you will be notified whether you have been selected for an oral or poster presentation.
Poster boards onsite will accommodate 118 cm high by 84 cm wide (A0-portrait) of printed material. Accepted abstracts will appear in the conference programme book and poster boards will be allocated at the conference.
