Covid-19 Updates

Covid-19 management measures for Wellcome Connecting Science Learning and Training events

As part of our return to in-person events, we have put in place several mitigation measures in relation to managing Covid-19 infection. These mitigations apply to all Wellcome Connecting Science Learning and Training events that are held at the Wellcome Genome Campus, Hinxton.

Making our courses and conferences as safe as possible is a shared responsibility between Wellcome Connecting Science’s Learning and Training team and all attendees.

Mitigations are regularly reviewed and will be updated, if needed, to reflect any changes in UK Government guidelines or Wellcome Genome Campus policies.

Hand sanitiser stations are in a number of locations within Hinxton Hall Conference Centre.

Mitigation area Our team Attendees
Face coverings Face coverings are recommended, but not mandatory, in shared indoor spaces. Attendees are welcome to wear a face covering while they are on Campus. Face coverings will be available on request from the event organising team.
Hand sanitiser Hand sanitiser stations are in a number of locations within Hinxton Hall Conference Centre.
Spacing Protective screens will be in place at the registration desks. All attendees are asked to be mindful of social distancing, particularly during communal activities, where possible.
Testing Members of our team take a Lateral Flow Test twice a week. If someone tests positive, they are required to remain at home for at least five days.
Staff can return to Campus after two consecutive negative test results. Staff are required to stay at home if they are in any way unwell. This may include, but is not limited to, symptoms of colds, coughs, gastric illness, or headaches.
We recommend all attendees take a Lateral Flow Test before they travel to Campus. If positive, they must not travel to Campus, or attend the conference/course. We ask that you do not travel to our Campus if you are unwell in any way. This may include, but is not limited to, symptoms of colds, coughs, gastric illness, or headaches.
If you start to feel unwell when on Campus, a Lateral Flow Test can be requested from the event organising team. You will be required to stay in your room until the test result is known. If you test positive, you will be asked to leave the Campus (if able to) and return home, or to stay in your room. If you stay on Campus, meals and drinks will be provided in your room.
Vaccination We strongly recommend that all attendees are fully vaccinated.
Ventilation The Wellcome Genome Campus Estates and Facilities and Health and Safety teams have reviewed ventilation across all Campus buildings. If there are any changes which impact current ventilation, further mitigation measures may be introduced.
